Hunter: Day 4 of Fever

My sweet boy Hunter, you are on day 4 of having an almost around-the-clock fever. The highest it's clocked in at was 104.5 and the lowest was 100.5. You have been crying that your eyes hurt and your tummy hurts. You go in between spurts of energy and misery. It makes me sad to see you sick. I hope you get better soon.

The week started out great, with your second "Hunter Mommy Day" because school was still out for the holidays, but Rachel was back open so we took Hayden to the daycare and spent the morning running errands together and eating lunch at Red Robin. You loved your cheeseburger and sharing a chocolate milkshake with mommy. Afterwards, you picked out a green balloon and a matching green balloon for Hayden.

After lunch, Mommy found 2 quarters in her purse so you could play the racing video game at Red Robin. Mommy helped you with the gas pedals and you steered (crashed) the car like only a boy can! Mommy figured out a way to pump the gas pedals to make fire shoot out of the car and the car stand vertical as it was driving. You thought that was pretty cool!

The rest of the week was a blur, lots of Tylenol and Motrin (you're up to a 1.25 tsp dose now) and on Thursday, you went for your 3 year old doctor visit/sick visit! The good news is that you're somehow growing like a weed even though you eat like a bird. You're in the 75-90% for height (39.5 inches!) and you weigh 35.2 lbs. No wonder those size 4 jeanies seem to fit you so well all of a sudden... :) As an added bonus, you also managed to avoid getting ANY shots because of your fever/illness but as fate would have it, Hayden ended up getting a (flu) shot and Mommy got 2 (flu - h1h1 and seasonal) shots! You watched the nurse administer the shots with as much interest as your daddy studys medical professionals as they do their job. Maybe you'll be a doctor someday? You tell me all the time that you "want to help people when (you) get bigger." You have such a big heart.

You also do something else so cute lately. You are so fascinated by books without pictures. I have about 15 books in my bedroom under a nightstand and you bring them to me and ask me to read my "bibles" to you. For a 3 year old, I am amazed at how much you love Jesus. You talk about him more than I do. You have such an affection for our "pathtor wyan" (our Pastor Ryan) and you include him in your nightly prayers (along with Ida, Payton and Emily "and Ida" (you always pray for Ida twice). It's been over 6 months since Ida and the girls came to stay with us but they made such an impact upon your life.

Sleep well, my sweet angel. I pray that your body finally fights off the virus that has invaded it all week and that you wake up healthy and back to your sweet self in the morning. Mommy wants to put the Tylenol and Motrin away for good and I can't wait to see you back in your "bootie" (footie) pj's tomorrow night. I love you so much, Mommy.
